Hostel accommodation is available for residents in need of assistance with daily living and personal care. Residents must be ambulatory.
Level of Care
Registered Nurses and personal care staff look after the individual needs of each resident. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided in addition to morning and afternoon tea and supper. Laundry service is undertaken on site along with weekly cleaning of each resident’s room. Bed linen, pillows, towels, face washers are provided.
A 24 hour emergency call system (with a call button in the bathroom and a pendant to wear) is provided.
Where practical, residents retain the Doctor of their choice; usually a Doctor who is prepared to make visits to the Village.

There are 49 units located within the Hostel’s general care area.
There are 19 units located within the Hostel’s Dementia Secure area.

Level 1&2 (general wings) are serviced by a +240m2 Common Area which also offers a Kiosk that operates three (half) days per week. Roof Top Garden & BBQ Area = 630m2 Level 3 (Dementia Secure Area – 19 residents) has a combined lounge/dining area of 130m2 :

Extensive Pain Management and RAC Physiotherapy is offered. Recreational Activity Officers are on duty 7 days per week.
Diversional Therapists and Recreational Activities Officers organise suitable activities including cultural days, special musical events, exercises, cards, games, craft, cooking, newspaper reading and discussion. Bus outings are also arranged on a regular basis, including fortnightly banking and shopping trips. Activity programs are flexible and are tailored to individual’s special interests.
There is a communal lounge room with piano, large television and stereo equipment provided. There is also a large roof-top garden area that can be used for quiet time, family gatherings, BBQs, and general viewing of the gardens. A Village library and fortnightly visits from Stanton Library are available. Hair dressing, podiatry and physiotherapy services are also available.
All Basic Daily fees are structured to the Federal Governments advertised prices. There is a Means Tested daily charge which is fixed by the Government. As at 20 March 217, this fee was $49.07 for all new residents on full Aged Care pensions
Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) Asset Based Assessment: Negotiable to a maximum of $550,000.00
Effective Maximum Permissible Interest Rate: 5.78% (Effective 01/4/17).

Explanation of payment options.
Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.
A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.
There may also be an income tested fee levied against certain residents that have assets above the Centrelink threshold; currently (20 March 2017) the maximum charge is $214.06 per day.
An assessment is required by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) before entry into the Hostel. The Assessment Team will provide application paperwork along with an appropriate report to support an application.
There is no fee for applicants to be placed on a waiting list.
Respite bookings are available – Standard Basic Daily fee (as at 01/04/2017) is $49.07/day.
